How to use Confluence
This page describes the basic use of Confluence.
Step-by-step guide
First you need an account.
- Go to https://diging.atlassian.net/wiki
- Register by clicking on the login button at the bottom left corner of the screen (

Use a Gmail account to login (for example your ASU email). ) and then choose "Sign up for an account" - After you've registered, login if you haven't automatically be logged in.
- You will probably see your Activity page, which will probably be pretty empty since you haven't done anything yet. You might also be asked to choose spaces you'd like to follow. If that is the case follow the "Laubichler Lab Manual" space.
- From here on out it's pretty straight forward. Click on "Spaces" to see all spaces and choose "Laubichler Lab Manual".
- Then create a page for the tool you want to document. We can worry about sorting and categorizing them later. To create a page click on the plus sign on the left:
- Choose "Blank page" (or if something else seems to fit better, choose that) and start typing. Creating a page is pretty self-explanatory. But comment if you have any questions!
If you login and you see something like this instead of your activity page:
You are in Jira instead of Confluence. To get to confluence, click on the little menu icon in the bottom left corner and choose "DigInG Confluence":
